William Metcalfe, PhD, LICSW
William (“Bill”) Metcalfe obtained both his Bachelor and Master of Social Work from the University of Iowa. He went on to receive his PhD from North Dakota State University. He is a Licensed Independent Social Worker and a Board Certified Diplomat in Social Work. He is an approved supervisor through the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, and also a Clinical Fellow of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. Dr. Metcalfe is a Certified Trauma Professional. He is certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and in Motivational Interviewing. He is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and in EMDR. Dr. Metcalfe provides individual, couples, and family therapy, as well as gerontological therapy for individuals, couples, and families. He provides family of origin therapy and family business-related therapy.
Dr. Metcalfe holds Distinguished Scholar Designation in Family Therapy, Circulus, University of Louisiana. He completed the Executive Leadership Curriculum at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, at Harvard University. Dr. Metcalfe taught Family Therapy Courses and Family Crisis through the Child Development and Family Science department at North Dakota State University. He has been a Family Therapy Supervisor with the Family Therapy Institute at North Dakota State University.
