Critical Incident Stress Debriefing

Employees sometimes witness tragic events at work, such as a death, serious injury or a life-threatening situation. These are called "Critical Incidents". The employee's physical and psychological well-being will depend on how this stress is managed.

Solutions has trained staff to provide intervention to mitigate the effects of the stress. Critical Incident Stress Debriefing is a facilitator-led group process conducted shortly after the trauma exposure. Employees are encouraged in the group to describe their experience of the event. The facilitator provides psychoeducation about stress reactions and management, and can link employees to additional services when necessary.
