Michelle Feldman
Michelle Feldman is a dual board-certified physician in pscyhiatry and child and adolescent psychiatrist. She graduated from Loyola University of Chicago with a bachelor’s of Arts, Cum Laude with majoring in History with completing the pre-medical curriculum. She is a six-time recipient of the Loyola University Chicago’s Transfer Rambler Award, a merit-based scholarship, and inducted into Phi Alpha Theta Chapter, an international honor society in history.
Dr. Feldman completed medical school and a Master of Public Health Degree at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. During her time at Des Moines University, she founded and served as a two-term president of the Master in Public Health (MPH) Student Club. She received the Des Moines University’s Marvin A. Pomerantz Scholarship. In medical school, she served a one-year term as co-president of the Holistic Medicine Club at Des Moines Unviersity. Michelle taught a 7-week stress management course to medical students and podiatry students as a stress management facilitator, and completed a research internship at the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland.
After medical school, I went to UH hospitals Case Medical Center/Case Western Reserve Psychiatry residency program. During my psychiatric residency, I founded the Mentor-Mentee ACE Program to match psychiatry interns with a supportive, one-on-one relationship with senior residents upon starting psychiatry residency. Also, during my residency, I was fortunate to serve as the co-chair for the Association of Residents and Fellows(ARF) with assisting to represent and advocate for the interests of approximately 900 residents and fellows at University Hospitals Case Medical Center. I also had the opportunity to pursue research endeavors in psychiatry including publishing papers and presenting on psychiatry research.
After completing her psychiatry residency, Dr. Feldman completed a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the University of Chicago. In residency and in fellowship, she participated in NAMI walks to raise awareness for mental health. She served a one year-term as student representative for the Illinois Council Child and Adolescent Psychiatry( ICCAP) during her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship. As a child and adolescent psychiatry fellow, she received the American Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) Travel Grant Award for the Legislative Conference to advocate for mental health and child and adolescent psychiatrists' interests at the Capital. In fellowship, she participated in research studies such as clinical trials as well as being a first author, poster presenter on " Mental Health Providers Beliefs on Spirituality and Religion in Application to Mental Health Practice in the Pediatric Population" at the Annual Conference on Medicine and Religion.
She has been a physician since 2011 and an attending adult and pediatric psychiatrist since 2016. She truly enjoys caring for patients with having an interest in child and adolescent psychiatry anxiety-related disorders, mood disorders, trauma related-disorders, Autism spectrum disorder and psychotic disorders. She has experience working in various psychiatric settings which include: outpatient psychiatry settings face-to-face and by telepsychiatry, ACT team setting, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient setting and inpatient psychiatric setting. Currently, Dr. Feldman provides telepsychiatry services which provides pediatric patients and their parents/guardians the opportunity to access care more easily from a psychiatrist. She values placing the patient's needs first, being open-minded and providing evidence-based holistic care to my patients.
