Lindsey Ness, LICSW
Lindsey Ness graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work from MSUM in 2006 and received her Master of Social Work from Capella University in 2021. Most recently, she worked for 3 years as a school based therapist. Prior to this, she worked for 15 years in child welfare; primarily in adoption and foster care.
She is trained in Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) and Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP). Her specialties include working with children (and their families) who have experienced trauma/stressful life events. She has personal and professional experience with children/families impacted by foster care/adoption. She says she hasn’t found a population she doesn’t enjoy working with! However she really enjoys working with children and their caregivers; helping the child feel safe and unconditionally loved and breaking down any barriers the caregiver might have in feeling and communicating this love and safety to the child.
She knows how difficult it is for people to open up and trust a therapist. She says it is a privilege to be a small part of people’s lives and get to see client’s reach their goals. She wants to evaluate her work by how safe a person feels when they are with her; the values of being genuine, trustworthy, respectful, humble, non-judgemental and providing unconditional positive regard for all individuals. In her free time she enjoys being with my family, running around to watch her children’s activities and being outside.
