Kristin Moen, MSW, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker
Kristin Moen received her bachelor’s degree in 2005 from Concordia College, with a major in social work and minors in sociology and psychology. She obtained a Master of Social Work from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2009. She completed her internship at the Nebraska Medical Center.
Ms. Moen was previously employed by Heartland Family Services in Council Bluffs, IA as a therapist to work with adults receiving substance abuse treatment and seeking mental health services. She completed evaluations, provided crisis management and developed treatment plans. She ran groups using the Matrix Model. She also provided Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) and Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) for children and parents. She worked as a Therapist in Prairie St. John’s partial hospitalization program prior to coming to Solutions in 2013.
Ms. Moen is licensed as an LICSW in Minnesota and an LCSW in ND. She works with a wide range of clients. She is trained in a number of evidence-based practices, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Attachment Biobehavioral Catch Up (ABC), perinatal mental health practice, and ACT. She is the clinical supervisor for both Solutions’ ABC services and also its Adult Mental Health Rehabilitative Services. Her specialty areas are in infertility issues, gender and sexual identity diversity areas, and trauma-informed practice. She works primarily with adults, as well as with families and couples. She finds meaning in being a part of her client’s journey to well-being, and strives to bring competency and integrity to her work.
After hours Ms. Moen enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies, and cheering on the Minnesota Twins.
