Jordan Toren, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (MN)
Jordan Toren completed her bachelor's in psychology from University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire in 2014 and her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from University of Wisconsin – Stout in 2016. While completing her bachelor’s and master’s degrees, Ms. Toren worked in domestic violence shelters to provide care, support and treatment to survivors of domestic abuse. Jordan joined Solutions in 2016 as a Clinical Trainee. After becoming a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, she developed a clinical practice with adults, children and families. She also provides clinical services to children and families enrolled in the developmental clinic, Autism Innovation in Motion to support children with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder or related disorders.
She has been trained in working with children ages 0-5 and in diagnostic assessments using the Diagnostic Classification of Mental Health and Developmental Disorders of Infancy and Early Childhood (DC: 0-5), a best practice model for early childhood mental health assessments; Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to treat children and adolescents with histories of trauma; Incredible Years Parenting Programs to develop positive parent-child relationships and assist in preventing and treating behavior problems and promoting social, emotional, and academic competence; Managing and Adapting Practice (MAP) an evidence-informed model used to treat children with a variety of challenges; Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) an evidence-based therapy designed to improve relationships between parents and their children.
Her areas of interest include early childhood mental health, trauma, abuse and neglect, depression, anxiety, autism, parent-child relationships, and communication. Ms. Toren has enjoyed working for Solutions because of the supportive team approach and dedication to providing support to individuals and families in our communities.
