Brandon Saxton, Ph.D.
Dr. Saxton is a licensed psychologist with Solutions Behavioral Healthcare Professionals with experience providing evidenced-based psychotherapy, psychological evaluations, and clinical supervision. He earned his doctoral degree in Psychological Clinical Science from North Dakota State University, where his research focused on better understanding perceived burdensomeness and vulnerability to depression, anxiety, and suicide. Additionally, he has taught courses in both Abnormal Psychology and Behavior Modification. Prior to his current role, he has worked in a variety of settings, including community mental health, tribal mental health, private practice, and psychiatric research where he has served as both a clinical and administrative leader. He completed both his pre-doctoral internship and postdoctoral residency here at Solutions Behavioral Healthcare Professionals.
Dr. Saxton has training and experience in providing multiple, specific evidenced-based treatments including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and The Unified Protocol for the Transdiagnostic Treatment of Emotional Disorders. He strongly believes in the intersection of science and clinical practice to inform treatment delivery to fidelity while maintaining a supportive, collaborative, optimistic environment through which change is possible. He has a special interest in working with older adolescents and adults experiencing difficulties with mood disorders, trauma, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorders. Additionally, he has experience in psychological evaluation to assist in the diagnosis and treatment planning of intellectual impairments and neurodevelopmental disorders, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder.
In his free time, Dr. Saxton enjoys being outdoors, gardening, reading, board games, birding, and riding his motorcycle.
