Ashley Peterson received her undergraduate degree in Social Work from Minnesota State University Moorhead in 2011 and her Master of Social Work from the University of North Dakota in 2017. She is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Minnesota and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Dakota.

Ms. Peterson began her social work career working with individuals with disabilities before transitioning to a treatment foster care program that focused on both family connection and mental health. She currently works out of Solutions’ Moorhead office, where she provides outpatient services.

She has extensive training in numerous evidence-based practices, including Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS), Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Motivational Interviewing, Attachment Biobehavioral Catch-Up (ABC), and the Incredible Years model. Ms. Peterson primarily provides services to families with young children, particularly those with trauma-related disorders, anxiety, behavioral disorders, and ADHD.

She works closely with Head Start, providing teacher training, coaching, and reflective supervision. She also facilitates parent groups for babies, toddlers, and preschool-aged children from Head Start. With expertise in early intervention, child development, trauma treatment, and parent management strategies, she deeply understands the challenges faced by young parents.

In her spare time, Ms. Peterson enjoys traveling, hiking, kayaking, and live music. She loves outdoor activities and spending time in or near the water. A dedicated runner, she participates in I Run 4 Michael, a program that matches runners with individuals to run for. She values staying active with her family and sharing in sports and church-related activities.
