Alexis is currently a clinicial trainee and LAMFT (Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist) and is working towards obtaining licensure while providing therapy at Solutions.
She has been certified in MAP (Managing and Adapting Practice) and is a facilitator of the Prepare/Enrich Inventory designed for the assessment, strengthening, treatment of pre-marital, married, and parenting couples. Alexis has received training and supervision in providing CBT, Solution Focused therapy, Structual Family Therapy, DBT informed skills, and trauma informed care. Alexis has special interest in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, grief and loss, disruptive behavioral difficulties, parenting, parent child relationships, division of labor and relationship issues. Alexis enjoys working with individuals, couples, and families. Alexis uses a systemic approach to therapy, which seeks to understand patterns of behavior within the context of the family system in which they occur.
Alexis belongs to the Minnesota Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (MAMFT). She was a former participant in the Minority Fellowship program through the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy to promote and expand the delivery of culturally competent mental health and substances use services.
Alexis finds the most meaningful thing about her work is helping people to build relationships, hobbies, work, and lives they are excited about. Alexis believes in building mental wellness as opposed to treating mental illness and using a strengths based approach. Outside of work, she values time with my husband, family, friends and dog! She spends her free time paddleboarding, sewing, quilting, and going on walks.
