Matthew Baumgartner, MS, LPCC (ND)
Matthew graduated with his Masters in Clinical counseling in 2019 from the University of Jamestown. He previously graduated with a BS in Criminal Justice in 2015 from University of Jamestown. He is licensed as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in North Dakota. His experience includes working with adults, families and children, and adolescents at West Central Human Services Center and adolescents at the Boys and Girls Ranch in Minot.
He has training in CBT, TF-CBT, and EMDR. He has experience working with individuals experiencing significant anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and psychosis. He also has experience utilizing EMDR to help people process traumatic experiences. He provides individual therapy to clients 13 years old and older.
He says the most meaningful part of his job is being able to take a journey with clients as they work towards overcoming and making meaning from life’s challenges. He says the values that he prioritizes in his work include being genuine, nonjudgmental, and respectful while challenging clients.
He believes in meeting the client where they are at in their life journey, and respecting that the client is the expert on their experiences while also acknowledging the importance for a client to be challenged in order to be changed.
He believes that often times life has us moving so fast that we need to slow down and look inward to change the things around us.
