Coreen Schoep, MSW, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (MN)
Coreen Schoep completed her bachelor's degree in Social Work from The College of St. Catherine in 2003 and her master's degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of St. Thomas in 2010. Prior to joining Solutions in 2008, Ms. Schoep worked for twelve years with children and families impacted by domestic and sexual abuse, dementia and elderly social work, and school based mental health services. She has been trained in working with children ages 0-5 and in diagnostic assessments using the Diagnostic Classification: 0-3 R (DC:0-3R), a best practice model for early childhood mental health assessments; Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to treat children and adolescents with histories of trauma; Incredible Years Baby, Toddler and Preschool Parenting Programs to develop positive parent-teacher-child relationships and assist in preventing and treating behavior problems and promoting social, emotional, and academic competence.
Her areas of interest include early childhood mental health, parenting, trauma, abuse and neglect, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, parent-child relationships, and communication.
Ms. Schoep initially worked as a Mental Health Practitioner at Solutions while completing her master’s degree. After becoming a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker she developed a clinical practice with adults, children and families. She provides clinical supervision for Children’s Therapeutic Services, overseeing the implement of services to assist children who have impairments in social and emotional functioning develop the skills needed to catch up with peers.
